Facilities at Barry Way Training Centre*

  • Hot drinks facilities (tea, coffee and squash are supplied for delegates)

  • Water cooler

  • Fridge (Labels are provided for any item placed in the fridge which must also be suitably covered)

  • Microwave

    *N.B. If you are completing your course at a different location (such as your own place of work) please check the facilities available. If you are unsure we recommend you bring food suitably packaged to keep it at an appropriate temperature and enough drink for the day

  • All learning materials and resources required for completion of the course (If you have any additional requirements or learning difference please ensure you contact us sufficiently before the start of your course to allow us time to apply for any reasonable adjustment and discuss your needs so we can assist you in the best way possible.)

  • Parking There is no parking available at Barry Way for Learners and we respectfully ask you do not park in other business’ spaces without their permission. Our pay & display visitor car parks are at St. Mary’s Hospital and are only a few minutes walk away.

    From 5 pm Monday – Friday and at weekends, clients may park in front of Unit 18, subject to spaces being available.

Learner requirements

  • Proof of Identity

    The following would be permitted proof of a Learners Identity showing Legal name (If you are known as Sam Other but your legal name is Samuel Other the ID provided must show SAMUEL OTHER) :

    a valid passport (any nationality) a signed UK photo card driving licence valid warrant card issued by HM Forces or the Police student ID card travel card other photographic ID card (must be current employer)

    If you do not have any of these please contact us sufficiently before your course start date to discuss the matter as an accredited qualification can not be undertaken without proof of identity being provided. Learners who do not provide acceptable identity at the START of the course will not be able to join the course and this will be treated as a late cancellation and charged in-line with our booking conditions.

  • Food

    Please bring all food you require for the duration of the training e.g. Lunch

  • Please ensure that you wear comfortable clothing that protects your modesty as you will be required to work on the floor and bending forwards.

    Clothing should suitable for a training environment i.e. clean clothes and shoes free from mud / tar / excessive dirt and also be mindful of those with allergies, such as animal hair etc.

  • Proof of previous qualification if undertaking a 2 day (minimum of 12 hours) First Aid at Work re-qualification and your previous certificate was issued by another provider. Please either email a copy to iownt.atcors@nhs.net or bring your certificate along with you on the first day of your course. We cannot issue a new certificate without evidence of your previous First Aid at Work qualification.

    The course will commence promptly and you will need to be in attendance for the full course duration, as per joining instructions that you will receive approximately 2 weeks prior to the start date of your course.

    Late attendance at any point during the course will be treated as a late cancellation and charged in line with our booking terms and conditions.
