This course is for the First Aid Appointed Person(s) or those requiring the Emergency First Aid at Work Qualification.

+ Course Content

  • Understanding the role of a First Aider, including reference to; the importance of preventing cross infection,the need for recording incidents and actions and the use of available equipment
  • Assessing the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and efficiently in an emergency
  • Administer First Aid to a Casualty who is unconscious (including seizure) and use of the recovery position
  • Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation, including use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is choking
  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded and bleeding
  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock
  • Provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries including; small cuts, grazes and bruises, minor burns and scalds, small splinters

This course is for those requiring an initial First Aid at Work Qualification. It may also be more suitable for those who are re-qualifying after a period of time where their full First Aid at Work qualification has expired.

+ Course Content

  • Understanding the role of a First Aider, including reference to; the importance of preventing cross infection, the need for recording incidents and actions, the use of available equipment.
  • Assessing the situation and circumstances in order to act safely promptly and effectively in an emergency
  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious (including seizures)
  • Administer Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation
  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is choking
  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is bleeding,including nosebleeds
  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock
  • Administer first aid to a casualty with:injuries to bones, muscles and joints, including suspected spinal injuries; chest injuries; burns and scalds; eye injuries; sudden poisoning; anaphylactic shock
  • Recognise the presence of major illness including; heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, asthma, diabetes
  • Administer first aid for a casualty with a head injury
  • Provide appropriate first aid for bruises, minor burns and scalds and small splinters.

RQF Level 3 Award in

12 Hours minimum
